Day 8: 1 week retrospective
So after just over a week what have I got. A basic character who can walk around, a bit of experience with the new TileMaplayers node, some basic npc movement and a clearer idea of the finished project.
I'm actually pretty happy with how it has gone so far. I'm learning and improving and I'm chipping away at the project. There is a functional build on the landing page people can load up and poke about with. I can't say they can play it yet, I don't have all the mechanics done. I have no sound. There are no shaders outside of the title screen, fonts and buttons are all engine stock and the assets I'm using don't really mesh together. There is still loads to improve upon.
I'm currently reading up on navigation and trying to decide how I want to implement npc navigation and the enemy AI. My inspiration here is Pac-man, so I want it to be similar to how the ghosts move. I'll probably base it on Blinky, I think he works best if there is only one enemy.
But it's work I'm excited to do. I'm looking forward to it.
